We pack and ship virtually anything, virtually anywhere. So what exactly does that mean? Check out the pictures below of a high value, antique chair. This piece is over a century old, hand carved and incredibly delicate. It was our challenge to pack this item and ship it to the other side of the country.
Look at the details in the wood, the fragile legs and animal hide upholstery. The chair is in immaculate condition and poses a myriad of challenges in determining how best to protect it during transit.
We had to protect the all parts of this chair from being damaged by moisture on the journey. The transit time was 5 days to the East Coast.
The carving details aren't limited to the legs and arms. The supports under the chair are some of the most elaborate parts. We constructed custom foam pads for each leg that cushioned the legs and provided support for the weight of the entire chair. This helps to absorb any impact the chair is forced to endure while the truck bounces down the road and while the fork lifts bang the pallets in and out of the trucks.
In this picture you can see where 2 pieces of wood were glued together to create the child's head. Joints like these can be damaged if any force is exerted on these points.
