ISPM-15 Certified Wood Crates for International Shipping
ISPM-15 Wood Crates, Lumber and Dunnage
Protect yourself and your international shipment!
Countries throughout the world have signed the International Plant Protection Convention's treaty, formally known as ISPM 15 (International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures #15). The purpose of this treaty is to prevent pest infestation, deforestation and other problems that occur when non-treated lumber is transported from country to country.
International crates should not be taken lightly. There are numerous restrictions and regulations that govern the transportation of all items between countries. Pack and Post specializes in international crate construction and can guide you through the sometimes sticky process.
Part of the ISPM-15 certification specifies that all wood be heat or chemical treated before leaving the country. Once treated, this wood cannot be comingled with other non-treated wood. A "bug stamp" or ISPM-15 mark must appear on treated wood. Pack and Post is inspected monthly to make sure that we comply with these rigorous standards.
These standards don't just apply to crates. They apply to all wood products, from crates to braces and dunnage. Many companies are not able to stamp and certify wood, or they outsource the services and pass along the higher cost to you. Pack and Post is independently certified, builds and stamps all treated wood in house.
